Fondazione
The History
Since 1989 the Foundation, first as an Association, held nine yearly
editions of the International Planning Seminar "Naples, architecture and
the city", an important meeting for young architects, foreigners and
italians as well, whose aim is to provide an opportunity for them to
live a formative moment and a chance to develop a project under
supervision from teachers of international fame and, at the same time,
it promotes itself as a further chance to debate about city and
architecture' subjects and issues through planning experimentation on
the city of Naples. Few italian cities feature such a rich and variated
array of projects and extra-universitarian studies like this one
assembled in the last ten years by virtue of the International Planning
Seminars. In the light of the experience acquired by the Foundation
during these years and thanks to the many national and international
links established, this body is taking a pivotal role both at civic and
regional level. This is happening now that also other public bodies in
the city are actually starting to collaborate with the Foundation so
that there are the grounds to positively operate in the city, organizing
its own structures, creating new job opportunities for young people,
aiming to build in Naples a cultural cluster for modern architecture and
city transformation, and by mean of it to export that cultural and
experience heritage the city is so rich of.
